Description

Diagnose and manage patients with various kidney-related diseases and disorders, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, electrolyte imbalances, and acid-base disorders.
Provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing renal replacement therapy, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), as well as management of dialysis-related complications.
Evaluate and manage patients requiring kidney transplantation, including pre-transplant evaluation, immunosuppressive therapy management, post-transplant care, and management of transplant-related complications.
Assess and manage patients with hypertension and other cardiovascular risk factors, with a focus on kidney disease prevention and management of kidney-related complications.
Provide nephrology consultation and management for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), including acute kidney injury (AKI), electrolyte disturbances, and renal replacement therapy (RRT).
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, including urinalysis, renal function tests, imaging studies, renal biopsies, and vascular access procedures.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including nephrology nurses, transplant coordinators, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities to enhance patient outcomes, promote evidence-based practice, and contribute to advancements in nephrology care.
