Consultant General Surgeon

APOLLO HOSPITAL, JABALPUR is an upcoming 300 Bed brand new hospital with State of Art Medical Technology on Patan Road in Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh. Apollo Hospital, Jabalpur operated and managed by Apollo Healthcare Enterprises Limited (AHEL) envisions becoming the one-stop destination for all medical treatment needs in Mahakoshal Region which has a population of around 3 Crores. The hospital is now ready for commissioning and expected to be operational by Mid-July 2024.

Clinical Skills Desired:

The General Surgeon should have skills to perform the following Invasive /Lap surgeries apart from a wide range of other surgeries:

• Breast, Skin and Soft Tissue
• Endocrine System
• The alimentary tract
• Abdomen and its contents
• Burns
• Head Injuries
• Neck Injuries
• Hernia Repair,
• Cholecystectomy,
• Abscess Drainage,
• Appendectomy,
• Small Bowel Obstruction
• Colon Surgery

Responsibilities:

• Review test results with patients and their families and identify any abnormalities.
• Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery.
• Explain medical procedures and care plans to patients and their families.
• Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, OT Nursing Staff, physician assistants, per operative staff, and perianesthesia staff.
• Follow established surgical techniques during surgery.
• Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatment and procedures.
• Ensure sterility in the operating room, and all equipment and instruments.
• Oversee all treatment prior to and post-surgery, and identify associated risks.
• Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care.
• Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity.
• Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions, as requested.

Emergency Services

• Should attend all emergency services and stand by ready to perform procedures like emergency endoscopies.

Academic Services:

• Carry out research to develop and improve on existing procedures and techniques.
• Delegate tasks as well as coordinate the activities of nurses and other medical staff
• Conduct training programs/CME’s both Intra and Inter Organizational as when required.
• Conduct health talks and awareness programs.
