APOLLO HOSPITAL, JABALPUR is an upcoming 300 Bed brand new hospital with State of Art Medical Technology on Patan Road in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Apollo Hospital, Jabalpur operated and managed by Apollo Healthcare Enterprises Limited (AHEL) envisions becoming the one-stop destination for all medical treatment needs in Mahakoshal Region which has a population of around 3 Crores. Clinical Skills Desired:

The Medical Gastroenterologist should have the skills to perform the following procedures with excellent precision:

1. Ability to Diagnose and Treat Gastrointestinal Disorders like

• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• Jaundice
• Liver disorders (autoimmune, viral and alcoholic)
• Anemia
• Gastrointestinal bleeding
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Gastrointestinal cancers

2. To perform bedside procedures like Liver Biopsy and Ascitic Fluid Paracentesis and Endoscopy related procedures:

• Upper G.I Scopy- Diagnostic / Therapeutic
• Lower G.I Scopy- Diagnostic / Therapeutic.
• ERCP

Responsibilities:

Out Patient Services

• Interview patients to gather information on their medical history and allergies. Interact with the patient, take a detailed case history, and determine an appropriate action plan for treatment and management of the condition.
• Examine the patients to Diagnose and treat GI disorders, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive issues.
• Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, such as ERCPs, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopes, gastroscopies, and barium swallows.
• Prescribe medication to treat digestive disorders and perform surgery to remove abnormalities in the colon or rectum.
• Perform diagnostic tests, like blood tests and stool sample tests, to determine the cause of the patient’s symptoms.
• Order laboratory tests and interpret test results.
• Recommend special diet, hygiene, and exercises necessary to enhance a healing process.
• Maintain accurate record of patient profile and treatment process.
• Communicate to the patient and patient attendees regarding medical condition.
• Document treatments (on digital charting software if available), adhering to medical charting standards, including ongoing progress notes and test results.
• Practice active listening and excellent communication skills with patients, their families and all staff, addressing patient concerns as the highest priority.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding medical conditions and their treatment options as well as preventative care strategies of nutrition, exercise and hygiene.
• Work with other physicians and supportive staff as a team in order to collaborate on diagnoses and perform procedures as required to stabilize the patients.

In-patient care services

• General Examination of the patient and order for necessary investigations for further processing.
• Assist the Surgical Gastroenterologist during surgeries.
• Maintain accurate record of patient profile and treatment process.
• Connect with Referring Doctors and advise the progress of the patient.
• Update families on the progress of treatment as well as steps necessary for recovery.
• Recommend Special Diet, Hygiene, and Exercises necessary to enhance a healing process.
• Refer patients to other healthcare professionals such as physio-therapists.
• Train the other Medical Officers in the hospital.
