Description

Evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.
Perform diagnostic procedures, including upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and other advanced imaging studies, to assess gastrointestinal anatomy, diagnose diseases, and guide treatment decisions.
Interpret diagnostic test results, including imaging studies, laboratory tests, and pathology reports, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
Provide therapeutic interventions, such as polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), stent placement, dilation, and other minimally invasive procedures, to treat gastrointestinal disorders and improve patient outcomes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and nutritionists, to coordinate patient care, discuss treatment options, and optimize patient management strategies.
Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education activities to contribute to the advancement of gastroenterology knowledge and improve patient care practices.
Provide patient education and counseling on gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures to empower patients in managing their digestive health and well-being.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and peer reviews to discuss complex cases, share expertise, and contribute to the overall quality of care provided by the gastroenterology team.
