Description

Provide prompt and effective medical care for patients with a wide range of emergency conditions, including trauma, cardiac arrest, strokes, respiratory distress, and other acute medical and surgical emergencies.
Perform initial assessment, including history-taking, physical examination, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., blood work, X-rays, CT scans).
Stabilize critically ill or injured patients through interventions such as airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, fracture stabilization, and intravenous medication administration.
Conduct minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, abscess drainage, and the reduction of fractures/dislocations.
Make decisions regarding the admission or discharge of patients based on clinical findings and coordinate the transfer of patients to appropriate departments for specialized care.
Oversee the functioning of the emergency department during shifts, ensuring efficient patient flow and effective use of resources.
Coordinate care with other departments (e.g., surgery, cardiology, radiology, intensive care unit) and ensure timely consultations when needed.
Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and hospital guidelines to maintain a high standard of patient care.
Supervise junior doctors, residents, and nurses, providing guidance and assistance as required.
