Description

Conduct pre-operative assessments to evaluate patients' medical history, anaesthetic risk factors, and suitability for anaesthesia.
Develop individualized anaesthetic plans based on patient assessment, surgical requirements, and anaesthetic considerations.
Administer anaesthesia using a variety of techniques including general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the perioperative period.
Monitor patient vital signs, anaesthetic depth, and response to anaesthesia during surgical procedures, making appropriate adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal patient physiology.
Manage anaesthetic emergencies and adverse events promptly and effectively, implementing resuscitative measures and coordinating with surgical teams as needed.
Provide post-operative care and pain management to ensure patients' comfort and recovery following surgery.
Supervise and mentor junior anaesthetists, anaesthesia trainees, and anaesthesia support staff, providing guidance and support in clinical practice and professional development.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including pre-operative assessment clinics and surgical planning sessions, to coordinate perioperative care and optimize patient outcomes.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research projects to enhance the quality, safety, and effectiveness of anaesthetic care delivery.
