Description
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in conducting patient assessments, obtaining medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensure cleanliness, and stock necessary supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Escort patients to examination rooms, provide assistance with positioning, and assist with procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, including vital sign measurements, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing, adhering to established protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Assist in patient education and counseling on health promotion, disease prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient demographics, medical history, examination findings, and treatment plans, in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care, ensuring timely communication and collaboration with other healthcare providers and support staff.
- Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members in a professional and empathetic manner, addressing questions, concerns, and inquiries.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, processing paperwork, and verifying insurance information.
- Adhere to patient confidentiality and privacy policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards of conduct in all interactions and activities.
