Patient Assessment and Preparation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients before procedures, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and preparing patients for cardiac catheterization.
Assisting in Procedures: Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Monitoring Vital Signs: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during and after procedures, quickly identifying and addressing any changes or complications.
Patient Education and Support: Provide education to patients and their families about the procedure, expected outcomes, potential risks, and post-procedure care, addressing any concerns they may have.
Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, including sedatives, analgesics, and contrast agents, while monitoring for any adverse reactions or side effects.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, procedures performed, medications administered, and patient responses, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, Cath Lab technicians, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care before, during, and after procedures.
Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow strict infection control and safety protocols within the Cath Lab, ensuring the proper handling of equipment and materials to minimize risks to patients and staff.
