Description

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other procedures, including obtaining relevant medical history, assessing vital signs, and evaluating cardiac status. Monitor patients' hemodynamic status, electrocardiographic (ECG) tracings, and response to medications and interventions throughout procedures.
Assist physicians and other members of the Cath Lab team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with catheter insertion and manipulation, and operate specialized equipment as needed.
Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including conscious sedation, vasodilators, antiplatelet agents, and anticoagulants. Monitor patients' responses to medications and intervene promptly to address any adverse reactions or complications.
Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure education to patients and their families, including information about the purpose of the procedure, potential risks and benefits, and post-procedure care instructions. Address patients' questions and concerns, and ensure informed consent is obtained prior to procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, procedural outcomes, and efficiency in the Cath Lab. Adhere to infection control protocols, radiation safety guidelines, and other best practices to minimize risks to patients and staff.
