Description
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner as they approach the checkout counter.
- Scan items, enter prices, and calculate totals using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Accept cash, credit card, debit card, and mobile payments from customers and provide accurate change.
- Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policies and procedures.
- Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and escalate complex issues to a supervisor as needed.
- Offer product recommendations, promotions, and upsell opportunities to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with bags, receipt paper, and other supplies.
- Ensure that cash registers, scanners, and payment terminals are in proper working condition and report any malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.
- Count cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accurate cash balances and reconcile discrepancies.
