Proficiency in using POS systems to process transactions accurately and efficiently, including scanning items, inputting prices, applying discounts, and processing payments.
Strong numerical aptitude and accuracy in counting cash, making change, and balancing cash registers at the beginning and end of shifts. Ability to handle cash, credit/debit cards, checks, and other payment methods securely.
Excellent customer service skills to greet customers, assist with inquiries, address concerns, and provide assistance in a friendly and courteous manner. Ability to create a positive shopping experience for customers.
Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and nonverbal, to interact with customers, colleagues, and supervisors. Ability to convey information accurately and professionally.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tasks such as scanning items, entering prices, and processing payments. Ability to spot errors or discrepancies and take corrective action promptly.
Basic knowledge of the products sold in the store, including prices, promotions, and features. Ability to answer customer questions and provide recommendations based on product knowledge.
