  • In-depth understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Proficiency in interpreting various diagnostic tests, including imaging studies (CT scans, MRI, echocardiograms), electrocardiograms (ECG), and cardiac catheterization results.
  • Sound knowledge of cardiovascular pharmacology and treatment modalities, including medications, surgical interventions, and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Expertise in performing a wide range of complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, congenital heart defect repair, lung resections, and thoracic tumor excisions.
  • Ability to perform both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques with precision and dexterity.
  • Skill in managing surgical complications and emergencies, such as bleeding, cardiac arrest, and hemodynamic instability, with confidence and efficiency.
  • Competence in using advanced surgical instruments, devices, and technologies specific to cardiothoracic surgery, including cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machines, heart-lung machines, surgical staplers, and minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgical systems.
  • Ability to operate with extreme precision in delicate areas of the heart, lungs, and major blood vessels, minimizing the risk of injury and optimizing surgical outcomes.
