Description
- Consultant Cardiologist is fully responsible to provide highest standard of clinical care and expertise in the assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients in area of cardiology.
- Consulting with patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns.
- Prescribing tests, treatments, and/or surgery, when necessary.
- Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
- Performing tests, when needed, to check the health of patients' hearts and/or cardiovascular systems.
- Interpreting test results to determine how effectively the heart and/or cardiovascular system is functioning.
- Using medical imaging equipment, such as CT and MRI scanners, to diagnose and treat heart and/or cardiovascular conditions.
- Assisting and/or performing surgery which may include complex surgical interventions that require a team of medical professionals.
- Prescribing medication to treat heart and/or cardiovascular disease.
- Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
- Training and providing educational support to junior staff, when necessary.
- Will be responsible for initial assessment, requesting investigation, analyzing the rest results, diagnosis, treatment, and re-assessment on follow- up.
- Diagnosing and treating a range of heart-related problems,
- Will admit the patients under his care whenever indicated within the limits of the approved and assigned privileges.
- Perform specialist procedures, such as coronary angiography, to help treat cardiac diseases.
- Will prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness or disease.
- Will explain procedures and discuss diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with the patients and his attendants.
- Will be responsible for monitoring the patients' condition and progress and revaluate/ re-assessment and treat the patient accordingly.
- Will ensure the implementation of all the approved policies and procedures, rules, regulations. protocols and guidelines, clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services.
- Will direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, therapists,. and other medical staff in patient care.
- Will contribute to the development of policies and procedures as part of the continuous quality improvement of his/ her department.
- Will be responsible to attend the Code Blue (if applicable) and should be involved in all other emergency codes of the hospital.
