Description
- Perform tests when needed to check the health of patients’ hearts systems.
- Interpret test results to determine how effectively the heart system is functioning.
- Use medical imaging equipment, such as CT and MRI scanners, to diagnose and treat heart conditions.
- Assist and/or perform surgery which may include complex surgical interventions that require a team of medical professionals.
- Conduct detailed patient interviews to obtain medical histories and assess risk factors.
- Perform thorough physical examinations, with a focus on the cardiovascular system.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations.
- Analyze imaging studies and laboratory results to diagnose cardiovascular conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
- Prescribe medications, lifestyle modifications, and interventions to manage or prevent heart-related conditions.
