Description

Abide by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department.
Provide the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/ she are responsible.
Responsible for the clinical care of the Patients requiring Medical Care according to generally accepted standards.
To attend all outdoor patients as per timings of OPD for particular days and norms of the Hospital.
To communicate and cooperate with other medical staff and colleagues who have patients in the hospital and wish to discuss other pertinent medical problems regarding patients in other areas of the hospital.
To conduct rounds of all the patients admitted at least once in a day and discuss the plan of Management of particular patient with the in-house staff and patient relative.
To Conduct All Invasive Cardiology Procedures.
To visit the patients admitted in ICU and discuss the plan of Care.
To attend all references inside hospital premises including physician fitness before any procedure/surgery. To be in charge specifically of medical inpatient and OPD Patients and Day Care Patients admitted under him/ her.
Attend the patient on admission and Conduct Clinical Examinations.
Take detail history. Put initial treatment order.
Suggest the necessary investigation and treatment.
Check all the treatment sheets written by the MOs, make necessary changes and validate.
Attend to all the patients problems and emergencies. To keep the consultants informed in case of any emergency assistance. To carry out the necessary emergency procedures and if needed shift the patient to ICU in coordination with intensivist of particular ICU.
Participates in the administrative organization of the Cardiology Department and takes part in the development of its rules and regulations as well as standards of care and maintenance of its equipment (in conjunction with the Bioengineering Department).
To be On Call for the emergency day allotted and for Cardiology References on respective day/night allotted to the Consultant.
Carries out reviews and investigations on drugs, equipment, Physiological and pharmacological matters relevant to Medicine, provides and / or takes part in advisory service to the hospital.
Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department. Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates in the planning and development of the Medicine department.
Participates in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, with the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
Give the necessary training to the newly joined Resident doctors , making them aware of their job profile and necessary protocols.
