Description

Blood Collection & Processing: Assist in the collection of blood from donors and process blood components (e.g., red blood cells, plasma, platelets) following established protocols and safety guidelines.
Blood Testing & Screening: Conduct laboratory tests on blood samples to ensure compatibility, detect infectious diseases, and assess blood type and Rh factor, using specialized equipment and techniques.
Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on equipment and testing procedures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory protocols.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of blood products and components, ensuring proper storage conditions and timely rotation to maintain freshness and efficacy.
Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of blood collections, testing results, and component distribution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and traceability of blood products.
Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to safety and health regulations, including those set forth by the FDA and AABB, to ensure a safe working environment and the integrity of blood products.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to provide necessary blood products for transfusions and assist in emergency situations.
Patient Care & Education: Provide information to donors and patients regarding blood donation processes, transfusion reactions, and potential side effects, ensuring a positive experience for all individuals involved.
