Description

Perform blood collection procedures from donors, ensuring safe and hygienic methods.
Prepare donors for the blood donation process by checking their medical history, taking vital signs, and ensuring eligibility for donation.
Handle phlebotomy tasks, including drawing blood and managing any potential complications during the donation process.
Educate donors about the donation process and post-donation care.
Conduct routine laboratory tests to determine blood type, Rh factor, and compatibility for transfusion.
Screen donated blood for infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, etc.) using specialized equipment and protocols.
Ensure the accuracy of all tests and document results properly to maintain high-quality standards
Process collected blood into various components (e.g., red cells, plasma, platelets) using centrifugation or other methods.
Label, store, and preserve blood products in refrigerators or freezers according to safety protocols and expiration dates.
Monitor storage units to ensure blood products are maintained at optimal temperatures and conditions.
