Description

Operate Autoclave Equipment: Operate autoclave machines to sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies used in healthcare, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities. Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials into autoclave chambers according to established procedures.
Set up Sterilization Cycles: Set up sterilization cycles based on the type of materials being sterilized, following manufacturer instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Adjust temperature, pressure, and cycle parameters as necessary to achieve proper sterilization.
Monitor Sterilization Processes: Monitor autoclave operations during sterilization cycles to ensure proper temperature, pressure, and exposure times. Monitor process indicators and alarms to detect and address any deviations or malfunctions.
Perform Quality Checks: Perform quality checks and inspections on sterilized materials to ensure they meet sterilization standards and regulatory requirements. Verify the effectiveness of sterilization by checking biological and chemical indicators as per SOPs.
Maintain Equipment and Records: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of autoclave equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, including cycle parameters, load contents, and process indicators.
Adhere to Safety Guidelines: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe operation of autoclave equipment and prevent accidents or injuries. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow safety guidelines for handling sterilized materials.
Troubleshoot Equipment Issues: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or deviations during sterilization cycles. Take corrective actions to resolve issues and ensure the effectiveness of sterilization processes.
Coordinate with Team Members: Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, and other staff members to coordinate sterilization schedules, prioritize loads, and address any issues related to autoclave operations.
