Description

Perform comprehensive audiological evaluations to assess hearing sensitivity, auditory function, and speech perception abilities using diagnostic tests such as pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions (OAEs).
Interpret test results and diagnostic findings to determine the type, degree, and configuration of hearing loss, as well as the presence of associated auditory disorders or medical conditions.
Conduct hearing aid evaluations and consultations to assess candidacy for amplification and discuss hearing aid options, features, and benefits with clients.
Select and fit appropriate hearing aids based on individual hearing needs, preferences, and lifestyle factors, programming and adjusting settings as needed to optimize hearing aid performance and satisfaction.
Recommend and provide assistive listening devices (ALDs) and communication strategies to improve auditory accessibility and enhance communication in various listening situations.
Provide auditory rehabilitation and counseling services to help individuals adapt to hearing loss, improve communication skills, and maximize their functional hearing abilities.
