Description

Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations of patients to determine their suitability for anesthesia, assess medical conditions, and develop individualized anesthetic plans.
Administer anesthesia medications and techniques, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia (such as epidurals and nerve blocks), and sedation, to induce and maintain unconsciousness, pain relief, and hemodynamic stability during surgical procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygenation, and anesthesia depth throughout surgery, adjusting anesthesia levels and medications as needed to ensure safe and stable anesthesia delivery.
Manage airway, ventilation, and circulation during anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence phases, intervening promptly to address any adverse events or complications.
Provide intraoperative anesthesia care in collaboration with surgical teams, including anesthesiologist assistants, nurse anesthetists, and operating room staff, to optimize patient outcomes and surgical conditions.
Assess and manage post-operative pain and nausea, implementing appropriate pain management strategies, including opioid and non-opioid analgesics, regional anesthesia techniques, and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) systems.
Monitor patients' recovery from anesthesia, assess their vital signs, consciousness level, and pain status, and provide post-anesthesia care until patients are stable and ready for transfer to the recovery area or hospital ward.
Document anesthesia care, patient responses, medications administered, and intraoperative events accurately and thoroughly in medical records, adhering to regulatory and documentation standards.
