Description
- Prepare anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications for surgical procedures, ensuring everything is in proper working order and readily accessible.
- Assist with the setup and calibration of anesthesia machines, monitors, and other equipment used during surgical procedures.
- Prepare and draw up medications, including anesthetic agents and adjuvant drugs, following established protocols and dosage guidelines.
- Assist with patient positioning, monitoring, and airway management during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Provide direct assistance to anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists during intubation, extubation, and other airway procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia depth, and other physiological parameters throughout surgical procedures, alerting the anesthesia provider to any changes or concerns.
- Assist with the insertion and maintenance of invasive monitoring lines, such as arterial lines and central venous catheters, as directed by the anesthesia provider.
- Prepare and maintain records of anesthesia procedures, medications administered, and patient responses in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
