Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients with kidney disorders, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, electrolyte imbalances, and end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
- Interpret clinical data, laboratory results, and imaging studies to establish accurate diagnoses and stage kidney diseases according to established guidelines.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with kidney disorders, incorporating medical management, dialysis therapy (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), and renal transplantation as appropriate.
- Provide pre- and post-transplant care to kidney transplant recipients, including evaluation of transplant candidates, immunosuppressive therapy management, and monitoring for complications.
- Perform renal procedures such as kidney biopsies, central venous catheter placements for hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertions, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficacy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nephrology nurses, transplant surgeons, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists, to coordinate comprehensive care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
