Description

Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the perioperative period.
Evaluate patients' medical histories, perform preoperative assessments, and develop individualized anesthesia plans tailored to their cardiac condition and surgical needs.
Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac function, and overall physiological status during surgery, adjusting anesthesia levels and medications as necessary to maintain hemodynamic stability.
Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes and ensure seamless coordination of care.
Provide intraoperative support for complex cardiac procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacement, congenital heart surgeries, and transcatheter interventions.
Manage potential complications and emergencies during surgery.
Utilize specialized monitoring modalities such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to assess cardiac function and guide perioperative management.
Provide postoperative pain management and critical care services for cardiac surgery patients in the immediate postoperative period, including admission to intensive care units if required.
Stay abreast of advances in cardiac anaesthesia techniques, pharmacology, and perioperative care through continuing medical education and participation in professional societies.
Maintain accurate documentation of anaesthesia care, adhere to regulatory guidelines and quality assurance standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
